Fair point...but did you wait until 40 minutes before flight to execute these and then get a crap seat? I'm thinking unlikely, it was probably planned out.
On the main topic, I think I would have felt uncomfortable telling the GA that I'm going to buy First when in fact I was just going to upgrade differently. Seems like a crap move.
