No guaranteed t+c bennies but I suspect the majority of IC's go out of their way and stil provide non-guaranteed bennies. However I have never booked Award Night at an IC hotel whilst an RA on a first stay at the IC, I always pay my nights on a first visit.

I guess some IC hotels are regularly more generous than others, but I have never been denied minibar, early/late checkin/checkout, free internet on an award night stay. All my award stay IC's bar one gave me some room upgrade, and the one that did not, gave me free lounge access.

I believe it is never worth an RA/Ambassador contacting an IC hotel before arrival asking/demanding to be told what bennies hotel will give before arrival. My personal view is hotels may simply look up t+c's and quote t+c's back at you and you can end up worse off.

I am just arrived at IC London PL on award booked 6pm day before. Flew into London Heathrow this morning and checked in a little after 9am. I was told room was ready. I requested to purchase lounge access and paid my extra 78gbp lounge fee. Despite only once not asking for lounge, I never get asked/pushed for this lounge access as an upsell.

Did not know which room upgrade I had to until I reached the allocated room, I don't ask at checkin, and I am usually delighted with which ever upgraded room I receive here, minimum Exec Room. I found I had end of corridor 1 bedroom suite.
Minibar already changed from 2x Heineken, 2 budweisers + 1 champagne to... 4x heineken's and 3 champagnes. And always at PL all stay bennies same on award stay as paid stay, although my expectation is probably a lesser room upgrade on points. Never been charged for movie on award nights either.

Including this current stay, last 3x IC-PL award nights had upgrades from superior room to Deluxe Suite, Deluxe Suite, 1 Bed Suite, with last paid stay also to a 1 Bed suite.

Maybe my recently starting to be a regular at IC-Lon-PL has helped with such unexpected and great treatment or maybe just lucky. ??
