Sure, but size alone doesn't explain that Russia (a bigger country than the US) still does one notch better than Murica in internet speeds.
Though at least we can boast we do better in internet speeds than Canada, China, Australia, and Brazil relative to country size.
So I guess when it comes to EMV processing which is dependent on internet speeds, we have to compare ourselves to how fast EMV goes through in Russia, Canada, China, Brazil, and Australia (all relatively "big" countries)?

Food trucks in the LA area already accept credit cards via Square, when EMV transition takes place next year, those food trucks will have to look at some kind of mobile EMV device. Being said that, they too will have to go through some wireless format WiFi/4G/LTE to get it processed.
