Maybe it doesn't matter. I'm not intimately familiar with the details of the diplomatic situation and its impact on LX or EU-based airlines' respective abilities to use Iranian airstrips/airports in emergency situations.

*edit: Personally, as an American and, to a lesser extent, as a Jew, I'd be slightly nervous if a flight I was on made an unscheduled landing in Iran. However, it's not something I take into account when booking air travel. This is especially true for work-related travel, where the quickest route from Point A to Point B is preferable.
