I've given up on writing about anything to Air Canada, I have no desire to waste my time writing something just to get a canned response and possibly a 5% - 35% discount code, that just doesn't meet my needs.

I honestly don't think AC really cares all that much about the FF like they used to. Back in 2008 & 2009 I was spending a little less than I am now, but was frequently thanked for my flying, spending, etc. As the economy recovered my spend with AC increased to a peak of ~$302k in 2012, during that same time the "enhancements" increased and the quality of service - especially the cabin service - decreased, now I have brought my AC spend back to just under ~$92k for this year, and expect next year to be about 1/4 to 1/3 of this year.

Given that on the same routes, WS may have ~65 PAX and the equivalent AC flight is oversold, I can see why AC is the way they are. They have decent cash flow, they're getting new equipment and they have suckered the not so frequent (and even a few FF) traveling public to fly rogue (pun intended), AC & AP have done a fair job of convincing people that the AC, AP & Altitude programs changes are the best thing since sliced bread.

Given all of that, why would they even bother with me? I wouldn't if I were in their position - until I needed that revenue back. It's just business - and that all I expect it to be.
