Girlfriend called to cancel her USAirways card she got about a year ago and only put a few dollars on. I told her to accept if they offered to waive fee. She got transferred to a specialist. It was on speaker phone and it was hard to make out what the agent offered, but sounded like "I can waive the fee permanently, but you wouldn't receive the benefits you would just earn miles." She canceled the card. Started to kind of regret it as it may be harder to get the miles needed to redeem for an award without buying. Has anyone ever gotten that offer? I didn't think they had a $0 annual fee card.
