My heart sinks when I see one of these 'Golden Pigeons' awaiting at the gate.
There's something of a cramped, cheap and nasty feel to them compared with the 737-400s normally used on the LGW-EDI route (especially if you've grown accustomed to the comfort of the 737's ClubEurope seats at the front when on a UK Domestic flight).
One of those A319s still has a BMI logo showing on the cabin crews' console screen just above where they sit by the front left-hand door.
Shame they're not getting rid of the ex-BMI A319s and keeping the 737s
