A (semi) related side note: The London Oyster card has a perk, for everyone, once you exceed the amount that a day card costs, all trips from that point on are FREE. [Similar to what I noted with the EZ-Pay senior 1/2 fare card...you don't have to
commit yourself to buying a monthly pass, and perhaps not making full use of it.]
