Unless you are also arriving from an International destination you will not be able to meet your mom until she clears customs.

My advice is to leave the secure zone and wait at the top of the escalators that will funnel her back towards the security lanes.

After you meet her don't go through the screening lines nearest the escalator but walk down the terminal to the next set of screening lines. There is almost never a wait at those lines.
