But not necessarily automatically. I had to ask for retrocredit when I checked in at 2 am -- they booked the room as a "day use" with overlapping stay for the next night. And I absolutely needed the Saturday night for which I paid and not a Sunday "day use"...
That's why you should ask the hotel to check you in ahead of time.
