Just piggybacking on this - my fiancée and I are flying to LHR on BA3 and back on upper deck to get married in august. I booked cash an hers is award. I am gold but she has no status and as they're separate bookings I paid $120 to both sit together on the UD. From what I read here am I right in thinking I could have linked PNRs and chosen her seat for free? If so, what are the chances of a refund of the $120. I'm not worried I not as I valued sitting together at $120 but would obviously rather have the money.
