I know this is a public forum for people to express their views and opinions but is it really necessary to publicly condemn the OP

maybe a quiet PM to the OP suggesting his post was not the wisest and everyone else to just keep quiet and not post

recently there have been a number of quite severe public rebukes of newish posters which I do not personally feel is the spirit of FT

I suspect this will be another one who just doesn't bother coming back
