They aren't kidnapped, but I'd say it's borderline. What happens is there will be some agent who comes to their country promising better wages (sometimes 10x more than their home wages) and a better life. To get this job, they have to pay a fee (usually ~$1500 USD) to the agency, who will send them to the Middle East, get them a visa, and get them a job. Upon arriving, their passports will be confiscated, and they will be informed their conditions of employment have changed; their salary will be significantly lowered (often lower than what they made at home, usually less than a decent poverty wage) and they will be told that instead of living in the glamorous buildings of Dubai, they will be living in inhumane shacks an hour outside the city. They are told that if they do not wish to work under the new contracts, they are free to return home. However, they are not, as they already owe money, and no one in the Middle East will loan them money to buy a ticket home, and their passport is confiscated.

Pay is often withheld for long periods of time, and they work ~14 hours a day in very high temperatures. Many end up dying and/or in jail, and those who get to return are in trouble as they barely made enough for sustinence not to mention paying back the agent.
