In your correspondence with UA, hopefully you didn't make a big deal about the previously-open middle seat, 'cuz UA doesn't care about that. The only thing UA cares about is the devaluation of the product (who would pay for E+ if you can get it for free?) and the immediate loss of revenue (why weren't these people charged?).
