I think it a little unfair to call it poor. I've found it to be a pleasant and comfortable lounge on the few occasions I've used it.

With the exception of LHR only First passengers are able to pre-flight dine in First Lounges. Club pax are required to use the Club lounges for their pre-flight dining. Gold and Silver are only permitted to use pre-flight dining at out stations when travelling in J/F.

The snacks in the JFK Flounge are superior to those available in the Club lounge but those travelling in J must dine in the Club lounge and those in First dine in the CCR.
