Maybe I have been lucky but I have been 5/5 on CPU SFO-BOS-SFO for this year. My upgrades have even been at the 96 hour mark. Due to the snow in Boston, I changed the flight this morning at the check-in counter and was upgraded at the gate. My fares are usually super discounted G,N fares. Maybe it the flight departure times that I have good luck with. I usually leave SFO on the 9:30 pm or 10:50 pm flights. Coming back to SFO I am always on the 6:05 am flight. Flights flowen on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Since I was stuck on the plane for de-icing this morning, I noticed one of the 757-300 had direcTV flying BOS-SFO.
