I don't have an issue with taxes being omitted from advertised prices. There's no other business I can think of in the US that is required to advertise prices including all taxes, except maybe gas stations... and I'm not even sure that's required or just the way they do it. It's the fuel surcharges that really should be disclosed.

I'd be in favor of letting them advertise prices excluding government imposed taxes, as long as they are required to include all carrier-imposed fees and surcharges, and the all-in total (when you get to that point) displays the taxes as a separate line item.
