Painted screens? Tatami? Hostess in kimono?

Or was it just a publicity photo?

Ever since I studied Japan in 4th grade (in 1968, oh my), I've wanted to fly to Japan on JAL. I've been plenty of times on UA and ANA, and their F is very nice, but for some reason I thought JAL would be over the top.

Last fall I flew NRT-ORD (old F) and everything was superb. Really flawless. But I was a little disappointed that the cabin, while quite lovely, was not Japanese in style at all. More like 'international modern'. Was I just holding onto a Madison Ave this-is-what-white-people-want-to-think-the-Orient-is-like 1950's dream that never really existed?
Dis you have to ring the bell? Im surprised i did, cuz with cx they would refill ur glasses once they know how fast you consume ur drinks (tea water beverages alcohol alike, even for 744 where they cant see you from behind)

Amf in jl f it wasnt just me people were ringing bells here there everwhere. Only 7 of us and 3cas
