Also depends on what time of the year and what time during the day... You are not going to see much of anything on morning departures ex-LAX during the month of April May June due to marine layer.

For other times, the right side window generally offers better view of LA basin on takeoff climb to SFO. You can see Marina del Rey, Santa Monica, Malibu, and depending on smog/visibility/haze level, you might catch a sliver of Downtown LA and Hollywood sign. Unless of course you are taking off on a reverse roll during low fog ceiling or strong Santa Ana days, then the left side is better (this is very rare).
