Yes I've had several bags go missing but all were on inbound flights with several airlines....longest was 30 days before it was delivered. I've never gone out and bought replacement items as I always assumed the cost wouldn't be refunded until the bag was officially deemed to be lost which used to be 30 days but is now around 19 days I believe?
Different rules apply on outbound flights though.
