Last summer, we flew to Quito on miles, but purchased the flights from Quito to Galapagos on Aerogal. It was just easier, in the end, as our schedule was not so flexible. Plus, many boats coordinate the cruise with particular inbound flights, so our flights were part of the cruise package.

This. We just went in March and our cruise ship (M/V Galapagos Legend) was coordinated with our AeroGal flights. We flew into GPS and out of SCY for about $250 each.
