"Air Canada has pushed back its target date for completing its aircraft lease restructuring by another month.
The insolvent airline, which initially hoped to finalize deals with dozens of aircraft lessors by June 30, is now aiming to complete negotiations by Aug. 31, spokeswoman Laura Cooke said yesterday...
The largest remaining lessor is the European Export Credit Agency, which is the lessor for 38 Airbus aircraft. A consortium of European banks is also involved in the leases.
The ECA is an important player in Air Canada's restructuring because it leases most of the Airbus A330s and A340s that the airline needs for international flights to Asia.
