Yesterday, DTW/DEN, I was #1 for 2 F seats. (DL.com showed me as #6, but, that's for another thread...) My UG went thru at about T-55/60 mins whilst in the SC. When I boarded, very near the end, 1A next to me was open. GA boards, peeks around the closet to veriify that the seat's empty, tells the lead FA that she's going to UG someone in row 11, walks back to get him, brings him up, briefcase goes in the bin, he sits down, door closes. We left the gate 6 minutes early. For a point of reference as to how full the flight was, it was Y1 as I boarded. No delays. No drama. Made a PM very happy!
Can anyone post an UG story that actually caused the flight to depart late?
Dave, of course they can't post such a story. It's one of those things that, if repeated often enough here, becomes the gospel truth. On another note, I simply don't trust any FA to UG anyone after he/she has boarded. It becomes open season for non-revs, and we are none the wiser.
