everybodys input appreciated on my situation.
Just this last week I found out that I am still entitled to get a $500 educational support from my employer (We buy something and then turn in the receipt to get the money refunded with our pay check). Most of my colleagues get an iPad with the money, I am planning on the same. I have to make the purchase/claim the refund by mid-May.
I am currently holding the Chase Sapphire (working on the last couple of hundred Dollars for the $3000 minimum spend), the Amex PRG, and the US Bank Club Carlson (unfortunately the non-Premier version).

It looks like I will make a larger four digit purchase in July, for which I want to sign up for some credit cards with larger minimum spends ($2000-3000). Is there a currently a good offer to 'bridge the gap'? Something like the Southwest 50,000 pts with a $1000 minimum spend?
