You are saying you use the sticky ID tags the airlines hand out at check-in, on your bags. Is that right?
That is really not a good idea silver-tis. It is in fact a known way to end up getting your house broke in to. Someone at your home airport reads the tag and gets your contact info. Reads the destination tag and can estimate the minimum amount of time you are likely to be gone for and then phones a 'friend' who visits your place for a 5 finger discount on your goodies.
You should be using a permanent ID tag with the info not visible on the outside at all when you travel.
