So long as you don't detour north of San Francisco to cross the Golden Gate Bridge and then return on that Bridge (toll direction is southbound), you won't encounter any cashless tolls. And, so long as you stay on any of the direct routes between the West Bay and Monterey Peninsula (US 101, SR 152, SR 17, SR 1, I-280, SR 85), you won't encounter any tolls at all.
