I managed to get a $7 voucher out of UA in a similar situation because it meant instead of spending time in a United Club in an airport where my connection was, I had to sit around in an airport with no *A lounge waiting for my non-stop.
It never even occurred to me to look at my travel insurance benefits with my credit card (and they'd already paid for a hotel that trip), but I doubt they'd do much, because you're only delayed 90 minutes.
Anyway, I suggest you read your actual policy, as depending on the province in which you received your card, the benefits could differ.
