Just returned from a 1st trip to GND.

I quite liked the lounge at LGW, a bacon sarnie with pink champagne made me happy

One notable change on this route is that there are now lounge facilities at GND for 1st passengers. You are escorted from check in and taken by golf buggy to a private lounge with its own security channel. Everyone does their utmost to make you feel welcome. Beer, wine, spirits and snacks are available, no champagne though. Very nice washrooms with a shower are provided. You board the aircraft from the lounge exit with a short walk over the tarmac before the masses are released.
