I recently got my first Amex (the old blue cash) that I am going to 3x CLI for the first time in late May. I want to get the SPG as well (this would be my second total Amex card).

Is it best to wait until after the 3x CLI to get the SPG? I'm concerned the SPG may limit or block the 3x CLI but I would like to start earning starpoints now for trips later this year rather than start in June. The 3x CLI is more important to me since I could then get the SPG and just move credit around.

Anyone have insight on this? Thanks!
