FYI. I went and signed up at a branch yesterday. I was an existing account holder but had to upgrade my checking account to qualify. Today I see the "Delta Skymiles Access" button on my online account page. Voila. What a relief.

I'd say go into your bank branch if the phone doesn't work and ask the rep to upgrade your check card to the Delta one. My rep didn't have any clue about all the publicity that they were shutting it down. She just processed the upgrade as I sat in suspense.
