This "incident" proves we have some of the most highly trained and professional flight and cabin crew in the skies.
Oh dear, the report is quite depressing reading - was this a mixed fleet flight with less experienced crew?
One of the the cabin crew couldn't operate a fire extinguisher correctly, and the others ignored the checklist that should be followed in these incidents to cut the power to the IFE - so the fire kept reoccurring after it was put out, which is why it used most of the fire extinguishers and was so 'serious'. It seems to be more luck than training that the fire didn't come back again.
5 fire extinguishers were depleted in this incident - how many would be left after this?
The good news is that BA have been told by the AAIB to improve their training in this specific area, so hopefully nothing like it will happen again.
