This is the reason I arrive at the departure gate 10 minutes before the boarding actually begins. I figure if I leave the lounge 5 minutes before depending on the distance then that works well. I've seen people actually miss their flight because they were having one too many drinks and talking on their phones.

One man on a recent flight got so upset at the lounge attendant for not announcing the flight time and he missed the flight.
