For now, they haven't gutted the partner award chart. They probably will, but that's where I'll be moving now. I recently booked two JAL awards in F ORD-NRT-ORD about six months ahead of the trip. All from Citi Exec AA + regular AA Visa. I can't really complain.
Oh, I'm definitely with you! While I was obviously phrasing my statements as complaints, I was just speaking to how I think things will continue to change. But absolutely, it's all a gift to most of us. The size of the gift and where/when it can be redeemed might be changing but those of us who have gone on even one "trip of a lifetime" courtesy of CC bonuses etc. should objectively be hard-pressed to complain. On the other hand, though, it's human nature to become accustomed to a certain set of conditions.

Stepping back, it's really miraculous how much opportunity has persisted even to this point given the amount of information available and the ease of access to it via the Internet.

And yes, I am sure they will gut the partner award chart!
