The Amandari pool suite looks absolutely serene. Beautiful ocean views from Amankila, too.

Seems like a perfect way to unwind from the stress of planning the flights

Glad you two enjoyed yourselves. Definitely makes me want to visit.
Amandari is so peaceful... and Amankila is everything it's cracked up to be... we had a great time... put it on your list... but it's really really far away... as you know...

You are both Amanjunkies now

Looking forward to our return end July ( still waitlisted on flights ! ) when it is cooler & ' non fly ' season .
Will be at Pulo first in a couple of weeks or so . Perhaps there ' ll be other Amanjunkies FTers there then

Jiwo does have a problem with service i.e. relative to the Indon Amans , not sure if the locals there are just that way . Mark S recognizes it.
Thanks for your help. Hope your card is still waiting for you at Amankila... I've heard such good things about Pulo too.. it seems so hard to get to from the USA too.. I guess that I am an Junkie as well...

The service at Jiwo definitely seemed a step below the other two... but there are some things that they could change easily I think. For instance the in room dining setup. Amandari/Amankila all had a full setup with water, a little banana leaf with your name on it etc. Amanjiwo just seemed to bring the food to you....

We have very similar taste btw. Two of my favorite things in the world are nasi goreng and (proper) mangos.
I started out trying just to write quick thoughts.. that got out of control and I ended up with a long disjointed rambling trip report... I actually think that I started it 3 different times... I was going to write about the flights as well but just couldn't get pen to paper... so to speak...

I so very much enjoyed the nasi goreng. we did a bali asli cooking class where we learned how to theoretically make it.. .that'll go back in the memory backs with all the other theoretical stuff I know how to do..

I like how you compared the three properties in different categories. I have been to Amanjiwo but not the others. You said to be aware that Amankila has a lot of steps. I thought that of Amanjiwo which you didn't mention in that regard, so it must really have a lot.

We, too, had housekeeping in our room at Amanjiwo when we returned from meals. So much is made of how you don't see the housekeepers at Amans, yet rooms are always tidy. That wasn't the way for us at Amanjiwo.

Thank you for a wonderful report that carried me off to Bali and Java.
Thanks... I got lucky with my pictures. I chose to leave the DSLR at home and just use a point and shot. I think I got some okay ones.. definitely more stairs at Amankila...though my wife always insisted we take the stairs to the beach so maybe that clouded my view...

Housekeeping at Amandari was magical... like little elves... at Amanjiwo is seemed merely normal...

Thanks all for the comments!
