I would love to see Delta add the "Where's my plane coming from" feature. Think there's lots of benefit to the flyer having that information at their fingertips (or thumbtips, as it were).
This information is available now too!
When you come to a flight status view, the information may be available in two different places.
- You can always tap on the "view more" and there will be a section for "Inbound Flight" (if the information is present). The flight number will be highlighted and you can tap on it to get the flight status of that flight.
- If the flight is delayed, the area where you would normally see the "View Flight Tracker" button will now read "Track Inbound Flight". When you tap on that button it will take you to the flight status view for your inbound flight.
The inbound flight information is only available one level into flight status. E.G., you can check the status of DL 221 and see that DL 1348 is the inbound flight for that flight, but you will not be able to track the inbound flight for DL 1348 from the resulting screen.
