Thanks for the explanation. I'm still a bit confused because I can't get the math to add up for me on the A320. If J had 38" and it is being moved to 37" that gains 4", but if rows 12-15 have gone from 33" to 35", you'd need a total of 8", so 4" had to have come from somewhere else.
Just a guess, but in the old configuration the J bulkhead (1DF and especially 2AC) had lots of legroom whereas on the 321 it is pretty tight. I'm thinking those have gone from the best to the worst J seats on the 319/320.
