That is what I would expect.
Based on many of us who are not Preferred members, and still have open cards can get another card, solely thru Instant Approval, I seriously doubt Barclays system can detect the USDM number, nor the existing / previous card situation.
If you have done 2 Barclays apps back to back on same day, you will only see one pull any way due to the 2 pulls on same day by identical requester (EXACTLY identical on everything) would be auto-merged by the credit bureau.
If you only have 1 Barclays app (the US) and is rejected, you should check your credit report to verify whether you are being lied to by the Barclays reps claiming no pull. Though I suspect the reps are more like clueless than intentionally lied to you.
