Actually olybeast has picked up on a good point. If BAabz had already been rebooked on a later flight why was that not picked up at flight connections at the first desk you come to when the BA agent scans the bp? Presumably BAabz presented the exisitng bp for the flight they were no longer on so they should have issued a new one there since the exisiting one was no longer valid.
