I am all for dangerous connections, I'd spend all my life in an airport otherwise (as opposed to most of it). But 35 minutes from the Commuter Terminal at LAX is not good, but there again not impossible. It may be rescheduled if that is the first flight of the day, to hopefully bigger equipment.

However when it comes to AA and flight changes, this far out you just have to go with the flow. So much could happen between now and then. I'm getting near daily messages of changes on AA, and US is even worse at the moment. So if AA has plugged that into the system as being OK with them, I'd just ride with it for the moment, then nearer the time ask to go the night before and stay in one of the hotels near LAX for a relaxing start to your trip home. I use the LAX Hilton.

AA is very good at rebooking connections, so you're not in dire straits by any means. And you've picked up a few extra TPs going to LCY.
