I recently had a good experience with Virgin CS after they stopped their HKG to SYD flight. They were going to downgrade me to economy on Cathay, but change their mind and put me back in business (that I had paid using points for), even though their T&Cs said the former.
Now, fingers crossed that BA take a leaf out of VS book and back track on their stupid new charges for gold card holders.
