I also think there must be more to the story than what is written in the article.

How many times did you hear announcements in the lounge looking for a late passenger? And here's a whole group in business class, and LH makes no effort to locate them in the lounge, but instead takes the time to offload the bags of a whole group?

Most likely the flight was overbooked and these guys being late for boarding was a very convenient coincidence.

I'm not saying that the Korean group is not responsible for their own actions. Nevertheless, LH is in the service industry and has failed miserably as well.
