As part of a longer trip in July, the two least expensive options (by far) to go from SLC to GRU would be through JFK: a connection of either 52 minutes or 21 hours. We might not actually mind overnighting at JFK, even with a hotel at our expensive, since we could possibly go into Manhattan for the day, but since the flight to GRU leaves about 9:30 p.m., we'd have to check out of our room first and store the bags at the hotel or, if possible, check them in at JFK first. A bit of a hassle.

What about 52 minute connection? Last night, both flights used Terminal 2. Don't know if this might change. We'd be flying business class on the international legs, first class domestic.
