My co-worker and I had this happen recently. We sat in the way back in different rows but for some reason he tucked himself against the window in the last row. The FA offered to move him up but he said "thanks, I'm OK". She then revealed that her and her fellow FA wanted the back row to relax and read their books. Of course, he accommodated them gladly since there was plenty of other room. We all chatted for a bit and when it came time for the drink service...rum and cokes for us!

I've started a practice of bringing chocolate airplanes from a local candy maker for the FAs and always get offered drinks. But since this is always my morning flight I reluctantly decline.

I think the FAs have a frequently thankless job and really appreciate some attention as fotoflyer88 points out.
