From my perspective, as someone with 26 years of commissioned service and counting, if in uniform there is certainly nothing wrong with being addressed by rank. Senior Non-commissioned and Commissioned rank is granted by Congress and certainly appropriate to be used by all. I would not correct you if you called my Mr. Gamecock, based on my nameplate either.
If we engage in conversation I would certainly ask you to address me by my first name because away from work I am very informal.
