I'm a CX OW Sapphire. However, when I fly to LHR I prefer BA's new WT+ product over Cathay's Y+. It's the only class that (I think) BA does a better job in both hard and soft product than CX. Also T5 @ LHR is much better than T3.

If I was travelling F or J, I'd say CX all the way! I don't have any recent experience with BA Y class.

But having flown this recently, and getting stuck on one of those 777-200s, I'd say that BA27/28 are an "avoid at all cost" type of flight, lest you get stick in the older generation WT+ seat. I did, and it was bad enough that I resolved "never again".

Window WT+ seats on the A380 are great as they offer storage bins (similar to UD on 747 CW) so there is ample storage and very spacious.

This is really a no brainer to me. Go with BA25/26 and avoid BA27/28.
