April Fools? No notification of flight change ??

I am currently in Paris, having made a round trip reservation on UA a month ago. The cheapest fare had me with a confirmed reservation EWR-CDG and a confirmed return on Apr 2 CDG-FRA-EWR. Not a big deal as my connection in FRA was under 2hrs and I was on UA out of FRA. I attempted to print my BP today and kept getting an error msg that I had to check in on LH, but they couldn't find my reservation. I figured not a big deal and that I'd just check in at CDG at 6:30am for my 7:50 connection. I then just happened to check UA's site for my seat to make sure there was an empty next to me out of FRA, when what do I see but I am now on the nonstop CDG-EWR leaving at 9:45am ?? I checked my msg and emails and the only thing from UA was asking for a survey completion on my outbound flight. I've printed out my now non stop return, but am concerned as to why UA didn't alert me to this change. Granted my new flight is an hour later, but what if it had been an hour or more earlier? Has this happened to anyone else ? I have been using CO/UA for over 30 yrs and this is the first time I have not received any notification of such a major change.
