My flight from PVG to HKG was canceled on Friday after a 5 hour delay. They told us last minute the flight was canceled because the incoming plane never took off. People seemed rather calm and didn't yell. KA put us up in a nearby hotel, my GF and I got put on the next flight out in the morning with free upgrades. KA also got us the cancellation notice so our hotel in HK refunded our previous night. Even after getting to HKG it took forever to get our bags due to the thunderstorm red light.

Flying back last night was almost the same story. 9:15 pm departure turned into 11:35 pm finally to half past midnight due to late incoming aircraft. The previous flight was canceled and people were put onto our flight. Some guy was suppose to be on a 3pm flight, but at least he got on the plane. There as some very heavy roller coaster turbulence on the way I think even freaked me out a bit, but all was good. No compensation, but I didn't expect any.

Overall mood was pretty mellow. No yelling or fighting; I think most people just wanted to get home. I sure did.
