Hotel rates in Japan (and prices in general) have not changed much in years. Zero inflation, actually deflation. The only thing that has changed is the sales tax (included in the price), which is increasing April 1st from 5 to 8%.

So, prices have been static for years, with a 3% bump in everything from food, hotels, rail tickets etc effective April 1st, 2014.
