I just received an email from a travel agency 10 months after contracting them (and initiating a 25% deposit on the trip) with a 25% increase between the final cost/sum total of hotels and the initial price quoted 10 months ago. I am not happy.

At the time of contracting the TA, I would have been satisfied to send payment in full to each property, in order to lock in the then current rates. A 5-10% increase would not have been quite so unsettling, but I find 25% to be unacceptable as it in no way corresponds to the figures of the initial quote.
