Whenever there is weather delays, HKIA (not just CX) seems to fall into complete chaos. Most of the 'fighting' situations I personally saw were unnecessary and somewhat avoidable. Ground staff has no information, seems clueless. HKIA has no beds, rest area and most people can't get into lounges. Airlines won't compensate. Passengers are just very frustrated. In one of my delays, the website indicated the plane would be delayed for 9 hrs (typhoon). And yet no information, confirmation whatsoever on ground. If they had given that info out, some people can head home, reschedule...etc, instead of being kept at the gate hour after hour.

And HKG really should have beds / rest areas ready in the summer. Typhoon every season and you might as well have 24 hour lounges / restaurants.
